Trans Instruments offers two models of salinity refractometers for these purposes. The RSA0100A displays readings in parts per thousand (ppt) or specific gravity, while the RSA0028A display readings in % of salt.
For marine aquaria, the RSA0100A also displays the specific gravity and is controlled between 1.020 to 1.026 for the optimum health of aquatic life.
